Requirements for Minor in Neuroscience

  • BIO 152: Principles of Biology II or equivalent (3)

One of the following:

  • BIO 302: Introduction to Neuroscience (3)
  • PSY 312: Brain and Behavior (3)

12 Credits from the following courses:

  • BIO 395: Research in Biology (up to 6 hours)
  • BIO 446: Neurophysiology Laboratory (3)
  • BIO 507: Biology of Sleep and Circadian Rhythms (3)
  • BIO 535: Comparative Neurobiology and Behavior (3)
  • CGS 500: Cognitive Science in Theory and Practice (3)
  • CHE 580: Topics in Chemistry (Neuroscience themed sections only) (1-3)
  • PSY 459: Neuropharmacology: Drugs and Behavior (3)

*Other Neuroscience related courses at the 200 level or above (as approved by Director of Undergraduate Studies in Neuroscience)

High Achieving students may take advanced level coursework from the following but note that permission of the Dean of the Graduate School is required to register for these courses- complete request form HERE:

  • ANA 605: Principles of Neurobiology (4)
  • ANA 625: Introduction to Functional MRI (1)
  • BIO 638: Developmental Neurobiology (3)
  • BIO 650: Animal Physiology Laboratory (3)
  • ANA 780: Special Topics in Neurobiology (1-3)
