S-STEM Scholarship

The S-STEM program provides four years of scholarship support for up to 15 qualifying incoming Biology or Neuroscience majors per year.  The average scholarship amount is $5000/year, depending on financial need.

The Robert B. and Helen P. Jewell Scholarship

The Robert B. and Helen P. Jewell Scholarship is $10,000 annual scholarship, renewable for up to four years, that is awarded to one incoming Biology major with unmet financial need.  Students must be Kentucky residents, in the top 20% of their graduating class (if ranked), and have minimum ACT or converted SAT score of 26.  Students choosing test-optional must have a minimum unweighted high school GPA of 3.0.   In addition to the scholarship application, students must submit two letters of recommendation (one must be from a math or science teacher) and two essays of approximately 500 words.  The topics of the essays are:

- Why have you chosen to pursue a biology degree?

- Describe your financial situation and the ways in which a scholarship from the Jewell Foundation will help fund your education.
