Brittany Slabach
Ph.D. Biology - University of Kentucky, 2018
My interests combine applied and conceptual approaches, focusing on animal behavior, natural history, and human ecology. I am a part of the UK elk research team investigating social dynamics in cow elk in southeastern Kentucky; aiming to understand the structure and function of dynamic systems with specific reference to group and population response to disturbances and potential disease transmission routes. I have numerous other interests and I have had the benefit of continued colloboration with my advisor's from Tufts University on projects including stress physiology and geophagic behavior!
