Layne Gaynor

Lecturer

I am a lecturer in the Department of Biology at the University of Kentucky. I am passionate about science education, and strive to prepare my students to be lifelong scientific thinkers. Currently I teach BIO148: Introductory Biology I, and am the lab coordinator and an instructor for BIO209: Introductory Microbiology Lab. I am a proud alumni of the University of Kentucky, and a Kentucky native hailing from London, KY.

I am also a behavioral ecologist broadly interested in social behavior and the evolution of sociality. My dissertation work focused on how changes in the sensory environment can impact communication and social interactions between individuals.
