Physical Therapy Tech position at University of Louisville Hospital. Academic Medical Center, Level One Trauma Hospital. Weekend position. One weekend per month and two holidays per year. DPT students and pre-physical therapy students preferred.
The central role of the Medical Scribe is to relieve the physician of clerical or secretarial duties; thus allowing the physician to focus more directly on clinical care. The scribe is an unlicensed person and exclusively non-clinical. They do not touch patients and do not engage in any type of patient care. A scribe’s role is limited to documentation and efficiency management for the physician.
The technician should have past practical experience in handling chemicals, operating laboratory equipment, generating and manipulating data, as well as computer database and word-processing skills. Good interpersonal, communication, organizational, teamwork and time management skills are essential. Technicians are expected to always operate in a safe and efficient manner.
2018 Hall of Fame inductee Sheldon “Shelly” Steiner was born in the Bronx, N.Y., and received his B.A. from Drew University and his Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Kentucky in 1967. His post-doctoral studies were performed in the laboratory of Dr. Robert Lester in the UK Department of Biochemistry.
