Exhibit: Aztec Remedies

Viva Mexico presents the exhibit Aztec Remedies. The exhibit shows some medical practices that the Aztecs adopted in their civilizations. It's taking place in the Chandler Medical Center Library from now until November 22nd.

Ribble Graduate Fellow Research Seminar "Two Novel Functions for Insm1 in Retinal Development"

  

Marie Forbes-Osborne is the 2012-13 recipient of the Gertrude Ribble Graduate Fellowship.  During this period, she published the results of her research project on the role of the Insm1a gene on zebrafish photoreceptor differentiation in the journal Developmental Biology.  Marie will present the current status and recent results of her continuing investigations.

Out On A Limb -- The Science of Regeneration: Ashley Seifert

Biology Professor Ashley Seifert describes his job as a scientist and educator at the University of Kentucky as one of the best gigs around. It’s hard to disagree. 
 
Seifert only recently joined UK but he is already making big plans for the research he hopes to conduct. His background is one of a developmental and regeneration biologist meaning he studies creatures—mainly vertebrates—who have the ability to regenerate parts of themselves.
